déjàrêvé Posted April 13, 2021 Share Posted April 13, 2021 Hey guys, I have been using the drum machine in Logic for years now and for the first time tonight I decided to compress it. I used the setting on the compressor called "Drum Mix" and now I feel like an idiot and want to go back through ALL of my old mixes and add it. I guess I just figured for some reason that the drums would already be compressed. Am I compressing them too much? I mean it sounds great! This is an observation as much as it is a question about the drum machine. Is the drum machine already compressed? Am i compressing it twice? What is your favorite way to compress drum mixes? As far as compressed drum machine... even if they were compressed, compression used right can pull stuff together, shape and make punchier (or less punchy), and all sorts of things, regardless of what the source is.
