Breenfactor
Hey guys! I was wondering how it could be possible to make the metronome sound louder. I already tweaked the settings cranking up the output level and the velocity settings of each bar/division count. Still, it's not enough. I would like to have the possibility to have it on a track and have the possibility to crack up the volume that way, but I still don't get how it could be possible to achieve that. I mean, I am not always gonna use 4/4 signature or certain bpms. So how could I achieve that in a way to have some kind of press for a template? fuzzfilth
The metronome alone peaks at -6dBFs, so by adding even just one instrument you're possibly clipping your output already. So the click is not too quiet. Solution: Turn everything else down.
Breenfactor
I know, that's true, but it' being used merely during the composing step. I like to hear it really loud to focus on the time signature, but then everything else plays at a normal level once the metronome is turned off. fisherking
you could just route everything to a bus, and turn that bus down a bit, when composing...
Eriksimon
Open the mixer, click the All button, then add a Gain plugin to the Click channel strip.
robinloops
Or use another plugin for click. Ultra beat is good for this. Then use any tones/sounds you want for the clicks.
JakobP
Considering you reach +4.9 only by raising the volume in project settings, adding another 24 should be sufficient ?
Breenfactor
Thing is, I don't have any click track showing on my mixer even after selecting ALL. How did you manage?
robinloops
It’s called Kloptgeist or something like that.
Eriksimon
Thing is, I don't have any click track showing on my mixer even after selecting ALL.How did you manage? It is there by default in every project, unless you manually remove it, or start from a template from which it was removed (it is in every Logic template though, so that would have to be a custom one). Have you scrolled your mixer to the left and right?
Breenfactor
I have my own template but I don't recall removing it, if it was there on default. I scrolled the whole mixer, no worries, haha Do you know how I can toggle the click track again?
Eriksimon
Import it from a project that still has it. Import via the File Browser.
Breenfactor
Cannot really import it. In a default project it shows the click with the klopfgeist and the signal goes from it to the output, but if I try to create the same click tracks within my template, the metronome doesn't go through the klopfgeist track. Danny Wyatt
I posted about a stronger metronome sound under my old account (3ple). Here's what I use. See if that fits what you want: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=131934&p=673250&hilit=3ple+metronome#p673250

Try to go to the environment (CMD+0) and cable the Midi Click - which is in the Click & Ports layer - to the instrument where the klopfgeist is inserted in the Mixer layer. To do this, You can open two environment windows, one showing the Click & Ports layer and another environment window showing the Mixer layer and drag a cable from the Midi Click output white triangle, in the Click & Ports layer to the instrument where the klopfgeist is inserted in the Mixer layer. That's great, I managed to do that. But still, I don't have the actual CLICK TRACK showing on my normal mixer, outside the environment. How to set that up again? Breenfactor
Ok, I thing I figured that out. Just had to create a new track, put the klop in it and route the midi click to that.
stratquebec
Yes Sir! I used an empty software channel strip to avoid the automatic creation of Aux's. So, Did that solved your problem in the end?
Breenfactor
It absolutely did. Thank you very much to all of you, guys
