Solution willmarlogic Posted April 18, 2021 Solution Share Posted April 18, 2021 Edit: From researching online, the solution is an automute or safety limiter, like Cerberus Ice9 (now discontinued, but still free and on the internet to download). (Original post) I'm trying to make sure that the volume doesn't reach a certain level on the master track. Using the limiter doesn't work since it distorts the audio (since it's limiting) and I don't know what to use for this specific problem. I need the audio to sound untouched unless it goes above (specified db). Am I dumb? I'm a beginner, but I don't know what to do. If you know about the logic sudden white noise blasts, that's what I'm trying to safeguard against by putting a limiter on the master, so when these noise blasts happen they get limited. fuzzfilth
Yes, ice9 might be a viable option, although there's no reason why any plugin should be calculated properly in an undefined situation and white noise blasts (WNB) certainly qualify as such. Also, WNB might not even happen inside Logic, Logic might somehow cause WNB in the audio hardware, which points to a driver issue, and that would make your ice9 sit idle twiddling thumbs while your eardrums are bleeding. In any case it's not easy to resolve or else it would have been long ago.
