Eyre1967
Hi, I have a weird situation where I'm entering notes into logic 10.6 from my studio logic studio 88 keyboard and it generates 2 midi notes that are on top of each other. One is the 'real' note that plays a sound. I've no idea what the other one is but it's a real pain when I'm editing my playing? Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Eriksimon
Can you show a screenshot from the Event Editor showing these two notes? Does the SL 88 have onboard sounds? If it does, then find how to apply "Local Off" to the SL 88 (see its manual, probably)
Eyre1967
Hi, The studio logic has no inbuilt sounds attached is a screen shot showing the end of the 2 notes that are generated after I edited them for note length - the underneath 'layer' doesn't get edited. gacki
I think it would be interesting to find out where this is coming from. Can you check with a MIDI monitor what is actually coming from the SL 88. (One quick idea would be overlapping zones or something on the SL 88)

Hi Steve, Can you describe how the keyboard is connected to your Mac exactly?
Solution Eyre1967 Posted April 28, 2021 Author Solution Share Posted April 28, 2021 ok - I sorted it - keyboard generates 4 layers in the default patch - 2 of which are coming out via usb into my Mac - if I switch to a patch with one layer the problem disappears! many thanks! David Nahmani
AH! Great, good to hear. And thank you for letting us know what it was, as it may very well help someone else with the same issue in the future PLUS it gives us one more idea of something to check if someone else asks the same question in the future.
