Trashytommy
I’ve got access to a nice condenser mic and I want to run it through an external mic preamp into my Apogee duet bypassing the preamp in the Duet using only it’s converters. I’m trying to remember extremely important advice I got a while back before plugging anything in.... from what I remember I should apply 48v in Maestro “only” if I’m going directly into the Duet. However, from what I remember if I apply 48v in the Duet (Maestro software) “and” 48v on the external preamp I could blow the preamp as it’s not designed to take power. So, am I right in thinking I should turn off 48v in Maestro software and only apply the 48v button on the external preamp? Cheers
triplets
Use Line In on Maestro. No 48V. Use 48V on the external mic pre.
Trashytommy
Thanks for that Triplets, that’s what I thought but wanted to be certain I wasn’t going to damage anything.
