Ferdik Posted May 8, 2021 Share Posted May 8, 2021 Hey Music Lovers! When doing automation in Logic the default setting is -5 ticks (this can be changed). Which means when you "snap to grid" the automation will be a little step before the grid. Is this what it takes for Logic to be in sync with tempo or what's the deal with the -5? Enlight me! David Nahmani Posted May 8, 2021 Share Posted May 8, 2021 It really depends what you're automating or what result you want, the best is to experiment and see if you can hear a difference. For some parameters, it's unnecessary. I believe that it was created to avoid potential distortion resulting from a sudden parameter value change right on a beat where you're likely to have the transient attack of instruments.
