Wahlbeats
Hi! In ableton live, there is a function that makes creating polymeters real easy. How do I create a 7 against 4 polymeter for example? Is there a practical way to do stuff like that in logic x? In other words, how do I fit 7 equally spaced notes within one 4/4 bar? Thanks! Solution David Nahmani Posted May 13, 2021 Solution Share Posted May 13, 2021 You could use Time Handles:
fisherking
'time handles'... so that's what that is. amazing how many options there are in logic i don't know about (usually, until i need a certain functionality).

volovicg
While time handles is very nice feature it, prior to its implementation I used another method. 1/create your polymeter rhythmic notation in the score. 2/ From the score menu -> functions->quantize-> fixed display note position and duration. This forces the underlying midi ( shown in the piano roll) to match the score. Keep you eyes on the notes in the piano roll as I execute this function. ( 7 even spaced notes in a single measure). yet another option....
