jackshoosemusic
Hi all I wondering if there is a way to record arm a Kontakt track in Logic...play a sustained drone...then switch to another Kontakt track to improvise on top..? Everytime I switch to the "improv " track the drone track stops playing.... I dont want to record ..I just want to improv until Im ready... Do i need to dive into the environment? Thanks in advance.. David Nahmani
Hmmm I don't think that's possible unfortunately.

Bottom half plays a drone that you have to play to sustain and the top half, you do your improvising. If you want more than 2 live instrument tracks, get a friend to play live with you. David Nahmani
I suppose if you're using two tracks then a simple enough MIDI Environment could sustain the note without you having to hold down the key. The note would then stop when you stop the recording. You could do it all on one controller if it can be split into two MIDI channels. JakobP
I must have gotten this script from this forum but can't remember from who... Anyway, the script sustains the notes until you stop playback or send a sustain event (e.g. with musical typing), you can select any other track and jam away Add it to the Music/Audio Music Apps/Plug-in Settings/Scripter folder, then insert Scripter on the drone track and select the "Sustain" preset... JakobP
Yeah it's really fun to use ! But I'm not the one to thank, tried to find the thread where I found it but couldn't... Vallisoftware maybe ? Or Dewdman perhaps ?
