Arpeggiator Silencing Midi Signal on Studio Strings

Hello! Brand new to this page! I recently purchased a new 2021 MacBook Pro:

16 inch MacBook Pro

Processor 2.6 6 Core 9th Gen

RAM 32 GB of Memory

Storage 1 terabyte

I’m running Logic Pro 10.6.2 with a M Audio Es 61.

Upon first putting the Arpeggiator Midi fx on Studio Strings, the signal is triggered by my M-Audio Es 61 Midi keyboard - it’s audible. I lay down a pass. Stop to rehearse for another pass, while only monitoring (not recording) and the signal completely disappears!

The signal comes back when I let the timeline run (or if I kill the arpeggiator fx).

I’ve added the midi arpeggiator fx to other instruments and no problem whatsoever when rehearsing with parts. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Completely baffled.

Sidenote... when I unplug my Sony headphones and plug back in, the studio strings arpeggiator signal re-appears. But only before and until I record a pass. As soon as I pause & try to rehearse, boom ...signal on Logic Studio Strings disappears again (only this instrument!). Thank you for any thoughts!!
