JCA
Hi all. Sometimes when I save a project it is just called the name of the project. i.e XXXXXXX and sometimes it has XXXXXXX.logicx Why is this and does it matter at all? Thanks in advance. J. des99
Are you sure that one isn't a folder with the name of the project, and the other is a Logic Project or Package, depending on your project save settings?
fisherking
the ".logicx' extension is technically, always there (it defines a file as a logic file); there's a setting in the finder preferences to enable or disable 'show the file extension'. i have that unchecked, but some of my logic files show it anyway. none of my other apps show the extension (but they have them as well). so, nothing to worry about. JCA
So it is just a Logic oddity? Because I save my files the same way every time and some show the extension and some don't. Not had that with any of the other programs I use.

fisherking
you can do this globally, for all apps, in finder>preferences>advanced. but again, i have 'show all filename extensions' unchecked, and logic seems to randomly add it's extension to projects (on 'save')... JCA
Thanks. I was just curious. I have noticed this for a while. Some files have extension some do not although have changed nothing in finder prefs and I save the Logic files the same way every time and have done for years. It is just something I had never bothered to ask. So it seems it is random which is odd but there you go!
