Automation Questions

Hey peoples, writing automation and have some questions!

1. How to copy an automation curve from one parameter to another (for example from modulation to expression)? For Midi CC and for Logic automation please.

2. Cmd-Y cycles forward, any way to cycle backward (when I’m working on just two parameters)?

3. Any way to draw multiple automation curves at the same time (not while recording)? For example expression parameter for several tracks.

That's a lot of different questions in one post! I'll have a go but if you want to go into more details for one of them, better to start a new topic so that we can have some back and forth without mixing up all the questions.

1. Track automation and MIDI CC automation but they don't behave the same.

For track automation you can hold down the Option key while choosing another automation parameter from the track header and copy the parameter to that new parameter that way.

MIDI CC don't work the same, so you have to copy and paste, for example you could do that in the Event List and then change the controller number of the copy. Or use a MIDI Transform.

2. If there are only two parameters, aren't forward and backward the same? :? Otherwise, no there's no backward cycle through key command.

3. You could have an object cabled into multiple channel strips, and assign that object to a track. Then your Expression on that track will be routed to all the cabled channel strips.
