Move apple loops from external drive back to internal drive

Hi everyone.

I had my apple loops on an external HD with an alias in this location /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple pointing to the actual loops on the external HD.

I thought I could simply delete the alias and copy the loops back to their original location on my internal Macintosh HD and all would be well, but if I open Logic without the external HD connected, all my loops are greyed out.

Any ideas what I've done wrong?

Thanks.
