Harvey Walls
As you can see in the video below, the Level Meter I added to the Intro/Outro track keeps moving even after I lower the volume all the way. The Stereo Out meter does the correct thing. Shouldn't the Intro/Outro meter also show no signal? Driving me nuts or maybe I just woke up stupid today. Solution des99 Posted July 23, 2021 Solution Share Posted July 23, 2021 Plugins are pre-fader. (This is a fundamental concept in the mixer.) If you turn the fader volume down (in this case, via automation), the volume is only changed after the fader in the signal path. The meter on the first channel is pre-fader and the volume of the audio signal passing through it at the meter insert point hasn't changed yet. Harvey Walls
Understood. How then do people go about checking the audio level of just one track besides soloing it to read levels on the Stereo Out? Obviously, that would also include any and all other tracks that have audio. I mean isn't there a way to see the output levels of just one track at all times (again, without having to solo it)? Sorry for the newbie questions.
JakobP
Turn off pre-fader metering; main menu Mix>Pre-Fader Metering (or calculate manually by subtracting the fader position from the pre-fader meter...)
