dmitch57
In the tracks area there is a super spiffy way to use the Marquee and pointer tools to add a quick rectangular change to an automation curve. Select an automation area with with Marquee, then just drag up or down with the pointer. See GIF. It would be great if you could do this down in the piano tool too, so that you can see the detailed MIDI notes along with the automation. (In the tracks area you only have a general outline of the notes, unless there is a way to get a better view than I know of). But there is no Marquee tool in the piano roll; you can temporarily make a Marquee with the Pointer tool but it's only for selecting exsiting automation points. Is there a comparable technique in the piano roll for pulling area of the automation up or down, as easy as the one in the tracks area? Thanks. http://dmitch.com/tmp/Marquee-Auto-Trim.gif
David Nahmani
No, unfortunately there is no Marquee tool in the Piano Roll.I, too, wish there was one.
Roger Tempest
It is a pity there is no marquee tool in the piano roll, but using the pencil tool plus ‘option’ is a makeshift.
polanoid
The Pointer tool, together with Ctrl-Option-Shift, will basically do the same as the Marquee Tool.
polanoid
BTW if you hold Option+Shift while dragging the line, you can do this nifty thing when moving the mouse horizontally
