Solution for Logic Pro version 9.1.7 to Mac OS 11.4?

Hello,

I own a Logic Pro version 9.1.7 Mac that I have been using as a single user since I purchased it in August 2012. However, this version is no longer compatible with my new computer (MacBook Pro Big Sur 11.4) and I could not install it.

1. How could I recover my license for my new computer?

2. I still have the entire Logic 9.1.7 Samples and Loops Library and I would also like to know if, in the case of an upgrade, it would be necessary to download it again.

Thank you in advance for your help.

1. I don't understand what you mean by "recover your license'. Your Logic 9 came with a serial number, but you can't use Logic 9 on modern systems anyway. You should buy Logic Pro if you want to continue to use Logic.

2. You can copy all that stuff onto your new computer and it will all work fine and as before. However, there is a lot of new content, so you should use Logic's tools to update your installed library, when you get it. It will only download the stuff it needs to update.

There is no upgrade from Logic 9. *Everybody* just buys LPX, regardless of whether they own previous versions or not. You don't need your LP9 serial number at all.

Note - LPX (full version) costs more or less the same as the old major Logic version upgrades anyway.
