qtry21
I've been looking around for some answers for this issue but not finding anything, so hopefully someone can help out here. There seems to be something going on with how Logic reads files in Sampler when there are multiple duplicate names of a sample. For example: I have a piano instrument cued up here, and if I duplicate the track (or even when I just reopen the project), it'll route directly to the highest "piano" in the hierarchy. In this case, it would be the piano.exs instrument in the Harvest Moon folder. This isn't an exclusively .sf2 issue either, as I tested this for default Factory instrument names and it still defaults to the highest duplicate name. The only solution I've found is to rename every single instrument a unique title, but it really does feel like I'm missing a more efficient solution. Is there a way to override the hierarchy system somehow and lock instruments to the actual files?
David Nahmani
I have trouble understanding what your issue is exactly. There seems to be something going on with how Logic reads files in Sampler when there are multiple duplicate names of a sample. For example: Screen Shot 2021-09-13 at 11.16.14 PM.png What you're showing is the library, which displays the name of a patch, not a sample? I have a piano instrument cued up here, and if I duplicate the track (or even when I just reopen the project), it'll route directly to the highest "piano" in the hierarchy What do you mean by "route"? What will route what? Do you mean another instrument is loaded? Duplicating a track or opening a saved project should not change the instrument. I have a hard time understanding exactly what you're experiencing?
