xtianc
I am exporting my tracks from Logic to Pro Tools by using "Export all tracks as audio files" I DO NOT want volume/pan automation on the export - therefore I UNCHECKED that box. I want the other person receiving the files to have a clean slate as far as automation is concerned. When I press export and I see the progress on the screen, the faders are clearly moving as if the automation is being sent. Is Logic just "fake" reading the automation but not really sending it OR is it actually reading it and sending it.
Solution fuzzfilth Posted September 16, 2021 Solution Share Posted September 16, 2021 No, even if the fader is moving, the exported signal is pre-fader. You can verify this yourself by exporting one track with very drastic automation, bringing the exported file back to a new track and compare. xtianc
Thank you!! And yes, I tried the trick and you are correct - the faders move but it doesn’t export. Again - thank you!
Stubai
Hi, on a related subject: I want to send my files to a mixer who uses Pro Tools, and I would like to include the rough automation I did to give him a better idea of some of the sonic nips and tucks I think the tracks need. However, I would like him to be able to then do his thing and adjust my rough automations as he sees fit. Is that possible, or will he be stuck with my automations? Thanks in advance!
