RobTC
Hey guys, having bass guitar plugged to Focusride 1818 and this one, via usb into my mac. I can her the clean sound of the bass. Track Fader shows signal. I can not apply any logic sound to the channel. Input is set to "In 3" (as the bass is plugged in) I can not apply any instrument to the input button. Clear Bass signal only. Further, I don't know the use of the I and R buttons on there track bottom. Probably a complete rookie question, though, otherwise I'm fine for the moment.. Anny suggestions welcome. Kr Rob
Solution des99 Posted September 24, 2021 Solution Share Posted September 24, 2021 Make sure software monitoring is on in Logic, and you are not direct monitoring in your interface. (The bass you can currently hear is being directly monitored in the interface, not passed through Logic.)
Atlas007
You should familiarize yourself with the channelstrips. The Input slot of an audio channelstrip can not hold a plugin. To insert an Fx (reverb, delay, flanger, etc) you have to use the Fx slots (below the Input slot). The "I" button is used to ear the connected (hardware) instrument. The "R" button is to arm the track you wish to record on. To save you time and effort while gaining easily proficiency in using Logic, I warmly recommend you David’s book!
