agvs
Hi everyone! Let me walk you through what I'm trying to achieve. I got a sesión for live use, where I got a midi track that I use to stop playback and go to the next marker, automatically. Currently I can achieve that by setting UP a MIDI clip with 2 meta messages, 1 for stopping playback, and another to go to (a specific) marker. Now what I would like is to replicate this but instead of having to specify which marker I want to go to in the meta message, I want to stop playback and skip to the NEXT marker, no matter what marker number that is. This way I could actually just copy the midi clip over and over to the end of each song in the live session, and not have to be writing numbers for every clip. In a nutshell, a single MIDI clip that will do the job. Now, I did try assigning a MIDI CC to the "go to next marker" command, and setting up the MIDI channel with "External" as the instrument, routed out to the IAC Driver, so to send that CC to Logic, but behaviour Is dodgy, sometimes it works, sometimes the playhead will just keep going. Has anybody else tried this or knows a better way to do this?
fuzzfilth
Have you tried reversing the order? First jump to marker and then let it run into a stop command ?
Atlas007
Not at the studio to verify same but I would try cabling out from the Midi Instrument object back to the Sequencer Input object. In such a configuration, I would avoid selecting that meta event track to avoid midi loop. That way you wouldn’t need to use an IAC.
