nadav spiegel
Hi, I purchased a new Mac and with it I updated My Logic Pro X to Version 10.6.3. Its all nice till here.. When I open Compressor on Hi Hat track and putting the Kick track on sidechain the compressor doesnt react at all. It doesnt work on any other plugin either. Everything works fine in a regular compressor mode. Please Help !
des99
Works fine here. Are you sure you've set the controls correctly to react to the kick threshold, and the appropriate ratio to actually reduce the hihat sound? Can you post a screenshot of your compressor settings with the audio going through it?
nadav spiegel
Sure.
David Nahmani
Try lowering the threshold and raising the ratio.
des99
I can't see any audio running through that, but as myself and David says, you'll need to adjust your threshold and ratio accordingly for the sidechain signal level and the amount of reduction required, just as you would for using the compressor normally. nadav spiegel
Ive tried taking all the parameters to the max. Im working on logic and its plugins for 15 years... usually with a kick the compressor start working already when threshold on -3.
nadav spiegel
It must be a bug or maybe ticking some box somewhere?
David Nahmani
Can we see the Output pane? Or can you attach the project file? We don't need any of the media, just the project file, see: How to attach files to your post
nadav spiegel
What do you mean by 'Project File'? here is the output

David Nahmani
I meant the Output pane in the Compressor plug-in. What do you mean by 'Project File'? The Logic project file, the one where you're experiencing this issue. I have more detailed instructions in the link I provided in my previous post. nadav spiegel
the zip file is too big to upload here...
David Nahmani
the zip file is too big to upload here... How big is it? Are you sure you aren't trying to attach the entire package or folder? In the instructions I show how to save organized as a folder, and then attach only the project file that is located inside the folder: • To attach a Logic file, make sure you save the file organized as a folder (not a package). Then in the Finder, go inside the project folder, control-click the file and choose Compress (name of the file). Attach the resulting .zip file here.
