floyd76
I have some tracks already recorded and want to record vocals over them. I am using a USB microphone (Blue Yeti) and can't seem to get the level loud enough to hear over the other tracks. Basically can't hear the vocals over the other tracks. Is there something I need to do to get the level up higher?
David Nahmani
How high does the recording peak. Meaning, if you playback the audio track after you're done recording it, with the fader set to zero, and no plug-ins inserted, what peak level do you see (at the top of the meter on the channel strip)? des99
If you don't have enough gain on your mic or interface, then you can turn the other tracks down as a quick fix, at least while recording. You don't need tracks super loud anyway.
floyd76
Thanks for the replies. After looking back at this I think I had the input configured incorrectly and was going to my interface. Changing this seems to have fixed the issue, I will try lowering the volume as well on the the other tracks.
