ryanomusic
Hi there! I'm having an issue with a plug-in: Cinematic Studio Brass. When I load the full ensemble patch into Kontakt, within playing a few chords the CPU usage reaches 100% and maxes out, causing major stuttering and jitters. I have to freeze the track in order to use it. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Here's what I've eliminated so far: This is just the full ensemble patch - others in the library work as expected. It happens both in big orchestral templates, and also when it's the only plug-in loaded in the session. This is only in Logic - other DAWs are fine. Cinematic Studio's tech support is stumped. They've never heard of this happening to anyone else. Logic's tech support advised I start a new user profile on my computer and migrate everything over - that took me a while to do but actually kinda worked for about 3 weeks (it was still high-CPU, but was more usable), but then it started back up again. Anyone have this issue or something similar? Would love to hear opinions! Thanks in advance! Using a late 2013 Mac Pro, 3GHz 8-core Intel Xeon E5, MacOS Catalina, 64GB RAM. Atlas007
Are you using DFD in Kontakt? How much free space do you have on your HD (in terms of % out of total capacity and that capacity as well)? What kind of HD are you using? Are your signature reflecting your current system specs? ryanomusic
Just updated my signature. Using a SSD. My HD is at about 60% capacity - 400GB available out of 1TB. I am using DFD, and the buffer is maxed out.
Atlas007
Any other apps services running? Any other plugin used? Perhaps posting a sceen capture of your project mixer could simplify the description… During playback having a selected track assigned to a dummy audio (empty, no plugins, no output) should help decrease the CPU load. ryanomusic
Nothing else running. Just this library. This screenshot is after playing about five 6-note chords in a row, about 8th-note speed.
Atlas007
Anything else loaded in Kontakt? Have you tried turning off the Bluetooth (and some other services)?
ryanomusic
Nothing else loaded in Kontakt. I have tried turning off Bluetooth and other things, yes. To no avail.
ryanomusic
My best guess is it’s a user preference thing somewhere. I guess I was hoping someone else had the same issue so I could figure out specifically which preference or bug is causing it.
