Ocorra
Hi all! I'm considering making the jump from Catalina and Logic 10.6 to Big Sur and Logic 10.7 (on a 2019 16" Intel MBP). Can anyone think of any issues I might encounter or considerations I might want to make before moving across? I'm mainly concerned about plugin compatibility. I use a lot of the 'big name' synths like Sylenth, Serum, Diva, Pigments etc for sound design and production and also a lot of Brainworx / Plugin Alliance stuff and Slate Digital for mixing. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot! Dave.
Deif
Make sure you have a Time Machine backup (or any other system backup) and If you have any plugins that use iLok machine authorization, deactivate them before upgrading. If for any reason your drive fails, you won’t be able to recover those iLok licenses.
Ocorra
Ah, great point about iLok - didn't think about that one. I do have a few machine authorisations. I guess I could just move them over to my newly acquired iLok USB then move them back to my machine after updating. Thanks!
