Disable ‘Arm’ of selected track?

Hi, I hope you are all doing well.

I use an Arpeggiator app on the iPad (StepPolyArp). In this app as a Standalone I can create melodic patterns in sort of a piano roll grid.

I can also Arp music that is made in Logic with the app. The only problem I face is: next to the music in Logic being Arpeggiated by the app, the melodic patterns made in the app are also played/recorded into Logic and I don’t want that. I want the app pattern only to trigger the music in Logic.

I contacted the developer on how this can be done.

The developer says that some Environment tweaking needs to be done in Logic.

In Logic a track gets automatically armed when selected and plays/records midi input.

He says that the App works in Ableton right away because you can select a track that is not armed and connect this track to a midi port.

In Environment the input where the app is connected has to be routed directly to the softsynth that I want to Arpeggiate. This is what the developers says.

I copied the Channel Strip icon of the synth in Environment’s MIxer tab and pasted the Channel Strip in Click & Ports tab and there I routed the physical input to the Channel strip. I realised I did something wrong because the track in Logic Stil gets armed when selected.

What am I missing here?
