craike
I've done lots of searching and can't find an answer to this. Here is what happens now: 1. I select two channel strips, one muted, one not muted 2. I press "M" (which is labeled "Toggle Channel Trip Mute") 3. The muted channel strip unmutes, unmuted channel strip stays unmuted Here is what I would like to have happen: 1. I select two channel strips, one muted, one not muted 2. I press "M" 3. The muted channel strip unmutes, unmuted channel strip mutes 4. As I keep pressing "M," step 3 repeats according to each track's respective mute state The same thing happens for soloed tracks. Is there any way to make a key command a true toggle, that simply inverts the current state across tracks, regardless of their current state? fuzzfilth
Toggle does not involve inverting the states between multiple tracks, it toggles between two states, identically for all selected tracks. You can have Exclusive Mute or Exclusive Solo by holding option while clicking on a Mute or Solo button.
David Nahmani
If you place the tracks inside a summing stack then you can use Smart Controls for this: map a switch to Mute on one subtrack and also to Mute (reversed) on the other. You can also go in the MIDI environment and cable one channel strip into the other, processing the Mute data to invert it, so that when you mute the first channel strip it unmutes the other, and vice versa. Here's one I programmed a long time ago that still works the same today: A Compare button: alternate mutes on 2 tracks If you want to pursue one or the other of these solutions and need further guidance do ask here. craike
Thanks, David! I came across that post of yours in my searching, but hoped there was a simpler way. Since it seems there's not, I very much appreciate you creating it.
