space nugget
Hello folks... Completely new to this forum, Logic, and Mac.... Is there a way to set the playback head to go back to the last selected position when you hit stop? As in: Say I am about to record a guitar solo, starting on bar 80. I set the playback head at 80, punch in, and screw it up. I hit stop. How can I set this up so when I hit stop, the playback head snaps back to 80 automatically, like in Pro $%^T? Is there a way to do this in LP8 without being in cycle mode? I know I know...stupid question, but this would speed up my work flow considerably.... Thanks in advance! anti-banausic
if you highlight (select) a region that begins at the same time as the punch in, you can hit shift-enter which is the key command for play from selection. Don't know if that will help. Just trying to be of some use. Have only been using Logic since mid-January. Best, AB
maninthedark30
Try CTRL+Stop (the 0 key on the numeric pad).
space nugget
Shift-enter was it! Thanks!
nikkik
Hi! This is one of the annoying things in Logic that irk me beyond all... Alot of times I will be tracking myself, and if I set the playhead at a spot, hit record, count-in, record, hit stop, and then want to run another take...well, I need to use a separate command to return to that last spot. You can playback from last position, but NOT record from. I forget to return the playhead before hitting record sometimes... ruins the mood in a split second... davidpye
If you have a key command set for "Play" as opposed to "Play/Stop" then you can press it twice and it'll play from the previous play position.
Ploki
OR you can just switch the key assignments and set "play from selection" to spacebar?
