LFL1212 Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 I have Logic 8.2 running on an intel imac and I am unable to set it up with my external speakers through a firebox. Every time I go to the preferences menu and select Audio, I get the beach ball followed by the app crashing... any ideas would be greatly appreciated? Thanks! David Nahmani Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 I don't know, I could swear that's corrupted preferences. Are you sure you did it right when you tried trashing them? Got the right file? Was Logic closed? Either way I would try again, your symptoms scream "my preferences are corrupted, please trash them". That's really all I can think of. At this point and unless you're getting other problems in other apps on your system, I would consider reinstalling Logic. Make sure you properly uninstall first. bmdaugherty Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 Try reinstalling your audio drivers too. The audio prefs communicate with the drivers, so any miscommunication could possibly result in a crash. For instance, if Logic queries the sample rate and buffer size of the driver, and it doesn't respond correctly, a crash would most likely occur.
