what .. the .. hell.

Gacki, how long is the usb cable going from your interface?

Can you run LP9 64-bit on your computer?

Any settings you can think of that are contributing to my subpar midi timing? Thank you for doing this

Just to be clear: Those tests were done "MIDI to MIDI" directly from MIDI tracks through the MT4.

I just did another test with an instrument track and the "external instrument" plugin to another instrument track (also through the MT4); here all notes were one tick early.

Can you let me know what firmware version you're running on the MT4?

completely baffled at this point, I've done the following:

- shortened USB cable (from about 15' to 8')

- changed USB ports

- changed MIDI cable

- tested Unitor 8 and AMT8 separately

- reinstalled Unitor driver

- disabled all AU plugins

- ran 32 bit or 64 bit kernel

- changed I/O buffer

- low latency mode

... and I can't get < 2 ticks jitter on MIDI loopback. I don't know what I'm missing here.

Jitter seems to be tempo dependent - @ 60 bpm ~1 tick, at 240 bpm ~3 ticks. Only odd thing I've noticed is the port #8 Midi Out light on the Unitor blinks during rec/playback even though there's no Metronome out or MTC/clock out selected, and nothing is connected to that port.

My USB cable is pretty short right now (perhaps about 30 cm?).

I just re-did the test with LP9 64bit: same results.
