EXS Sample Loads with an SSD

Greetings Logic Tribesmen.

In Vienna Symphonic land, users have been sated with absurd load time reduction and multiplied burst voices thanks to VI's use of solid state drive memory.

Can similar gains be had with EXS loads from a solid state drive? Can the EXS be directed to load even smaller sample heads and fetch the rest from SSD?

If not, what are the odds that Apple might incorporate this?

I am not aware of such a feature in Logic. However, there is mention of some setup with VSL sampler instrument at:

http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/instruments/#chapter=12%26section=27

which could be of some interest...

Additionnally, in 32bit mode, EXS24 mkII adresses handling of samples via virtual memory on disk (which may be equivalent):

http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/instruments/#chapter=12%26section=25

and here:

http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/instruments/#chapter=12%26section=26

(To set advanced memory options for the EXS24 mkII in 32-bit mode)

Thanks Atlas007. Yeah, I've seen these screens for a few versions now. The VSL Performance Tool is actually for an EXS load of Vienna Symphonic Library's performance patches, back when they were making EXS-based product. The PT was a MIDI interpretation device that would map legato and repetition samples based on the overlap of notes.

The EXS settings to which you pointed could trim sample heads up to a point, but they still load more RAM than a computer with an SSD probably needs.
