ed
Just for fun I put a G4 I wasn't using on the network and set it up as a Logic node. Setup was pretty easy and it linked just fine. My question is how people are actually using this, the latency is huge and it seems to make the whole thing non-usable. Having just jumped in and not taken much time reading up on it I might be missing something, but would love to hear any comments. Thanks, ed
David Nahmani
Well, what kind of G4 are you using? I know some people have reported using a G4 successfully but Apple only supports using a G5 as a node. Also, what kind of network are you using? tatem
Im suffuring with a similar issue.I tried to link my G4 dual 1.0 giga bit with my ibook 1.3 as the node and had no boost in performance whatsoever (in fact it was worse). Just curious what the sys pref setup is supposed to be? Is there a link to a proper setup I was in the manual and poking around for the "online help" but I wasnt having any luck. Also patch networking cable or the regular one?
David Nahmani
Well, nothing really surprising. An iBook is a weak machine to be used as a node!
