hrrfrost
I want to buy the Mini Me, but before I do, I need to know the different monitoring capabilities. First, is the full output of logic sent back thru the USB and then monitored thru the headphone jack? Or, is the incoming source (mic 1 or 2) the only audio played thru the headphone jack. Could I take the output of the headphone and use that as my main monitor mix, so that I can monitor my input signal with no latency, along with my mix from Logic? Any help would be great. THanks! David Nahmani
Yes, you can. You can download the mini-me's manual here: http://www.apogeedigital.com/support/usersguides.php It says: Direct/Return Mix Monitor: A comprehensive mono/stereo monitor section allows you to balance the direct sound you’re recording with audio returned via the USB port. Sounds like what you want!
hrrfrost
It still doesn't specify whether or not the headphone monitors only the incoming signal, or the full DAW mix + incoming signal. Does the USB audio return contain all the tracks in logic or just the incomiong signal? Thanks
David Nahmani
The return is your Out 1-2 in Logic. If you click "software monitoring" off in Logic, you can then mix your direct input mic signal on the mini-me and enjoy real zero-latency monitoring.
