omar17166
The list here is long, so may be they were posted before, but these two are my favourite "free" plugins: - DrumMica! by Sennheiser. It's a drum library that's extra realistic. https://en-us.sennheiser.com/drummica - Sorry but this one must have been free only during a limited period when I got it (now I see it is at $49), It's a reverb called Raum. One of the best FX modules in my opinion. It just enhances/thickens the sound of the track (or the total mix) in a second, even without further tweaking! https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/effects/raum/ They both run on the free Kontakt Player. Jordi Torres
@Prophecy99, Thanks but that one does not seem to be free? This plug-in is also available in Audio Units format which is the only plug-in type Logic supports natively...but again, not for free (at least not right now and at least not for people in Europe). skijumptoes
I think they run their products for free while in the beta stage, this is currently free if anyone wants an 80s Digital reverb, and you get full license when/if it gets released:- https://schulz.audio/products/jp-me-1/

Jordi Torres
Ok, thanks for clarifying that. I didn't see "free" anywhere, hence my post. But I did not try to download it either. J.
Prophecy99
I hopefully will have a few more freebies to post . I need to check them out firsthand b4 posting. Edited May 23, 2020 by Prophecy99
Jordi Torres
Hmm, I did believe you, it's just that I'm not interested in that plug-in so did not (and will not) download it. The discussion might be useful for those who may be interested in it though, so again, thanks for making it clear. J.

Sascha Franck
Fwiw, not exactly a plugin (well, it comes with one basic plugin) but rather a sample library player, but IMO some of the things Spitfire Audio has on offer with their LABS series are quite outstanding. Defenitely not your run of the mill stuff. Some quite inspiring patches among them. They also offer their BBC Orchestra Discover version for free (if you can wait for 2 weeks). John_D
Eventide is offering a new synth called Pendulate. Free, no iLok required, just need to give an email address. More information at Eventide on this page. When you enter the email address, you immediately start a .dmg download. Cool presets and a really interesting new method of synthesis. I ran across Pendulate through an article in CDM.
omar17166
Great post. Ive downloaded everything you recommended but I have one question. What program is a good one to install and use to run the VST plug ins you recommended? Thanks variant5 Do you mean which DAW? These VSTs are plugins, normally added to a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Most of these plugins will run on most popular DAW's. Here is a link explaining the various formats of these plugins to fit each DAW: https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/which-plug-format-need-for-my-daw/
AndyS
Sounds like a fun plugin. I held off installing when it asked for root permission: "Pendulate wants to make changes". A-huh. Waiting to hear back from Eventide as to exactly 'what' changes it wants to make. Call me OCD (over-cautious dude).

If you have the full kontakt (the paid one) then Drummica! is still available for free. It was free even for the free kontakt player when I downloaded it, and they say it will continue to be free. Now, however, it is only available for the full kontakt, i think since May, 2020.
Sascha Franck
Fwiw, Raum, which I fortunately got for free, is a most excellent reverb-ish ("ish" as it does some mad stuff) plugin, possibly every bit worth the money. But in case you're short on money right now (as is the case for me, for wellknown reasons I think...), there's always also the excellent Supermassive from Valhalla: https://valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-supermassive/ And while you're there, make sure to grab the other freebies (Spacemodulator and FreqEcho) as well. Superb stuff.

Sascha Franck
Don't miss this one by Impact Soundworks:https://impactsoundworks.com/product/the-88e/ Installed that earlier, some nice things one could do. But over 3GB for what basically is a one trick pony? People seem to have lost the idea about the fine art of sampling.
