Suggestions for templates

Mon Jul 11, 2016 6:15 am

Would it be safe to say that before printing to audio you should use a single template. Then import your audio to a new template for the next "phase"?

No, I would say not.
What is the logic behind your thinking?

While "a single template" might "apply a single set of values to" (everything that has been done so far), there's no guarantee that "all of those things" are, at all, "actually the same." (Say, one of the tracks is "a delicate guitar piece," while the other is "MegaDeth" ...)

Mike,
Both would be audio files, so they are the same. I would like to possibly change the course of the conversation to say...what do you use Templates for?

It's a workflow question, and workflows are personal. As an example, BT (Brian Transeau) uses 10 different Logic project files for 10 different steps of the same song. Many producers start and finish a song in the same Logic file. There are no rules. Do what seems logical to you and works for you, the way you like to organize your files, the way your brain works, etc.

Thanks David that's why I posted in the techniques section. Just wondering if my style could be enhanced or sped up. While I have no line of sight into why a separate template may help me, I'm not ignoring the notion that someone may enlighten me to some new way to get things done.
