Snegas
Hello. Please assist me. My Roland A-33 midi controller is not readable on my logic. Are they not compatible or do I need something to make it work?
David Nahmani
No, you do not need a driver for the A33 however you need a MIDI Interface connected to your Mac, and that MIDI Interface may (or may not) require a driver. What MIDI interface are you using?
Snegas
Hello. I use Lexicon
David Nahmani
Does your Mac see the Lexicon?
Snegas
yes it does and other midi controllers are readable
David Nahmani
Open a new empty project, create a software instrument track and in the Library choose one of Logic's piano sounds. Can you hear anything if you play the A33? Can you hear anything if you show the musical typing window (Window > Show Musical Typing) and play the keys on your computer keyboard? MikeRobinson
Have you described the instrument in your Environment, and fundamentally, do you see MIDi messages coming-and-going as you press keys? I know that USB devices have a device- and manufacturer-identifier which is publicly known. Does Logic have a catalog of commonly-used USB devices and controllers? I'm not familiar with this controller: is it USB, or MIDI?
Snegas
It is USB
David Nahmani
It is USB Did you see my questions? And are you sure your A33 has a USB connector? I don't see any here: http://images.philippineslisted.com/nlarge/roland_a33_midi_controller_49114.jpg
MikeRobinson
It seems to me that you should now carefully describe exactly what your (entire) equipment setup actually is: every single piece of [musical] equipment, start to finish, that is actually attached to your computer. If you like, just take a picture of your setup with your phone, such that everything (Macintosh and all) is somehow in the picture.
Snegas
I was talking about Lexicon when I said USB. Yes my A-33 looks like that and I connect to my Mac via USB from A33 but my logic somehow does not recognize it like it does with other midi controllers like my D50. So maybe I am not doing something right or there might be some setting that are not correct.
Snegas
Maybe we can skype so I can explain and show you what's the issue
Snegas
my equipments are Roland A-33 and Lexicon Lambda external sound card. Both are connected direct to my Mac via usb. Strange is Roland D-50 works perfectly but the A-33 does not and I desperately need to use A-33 on my setup
MikeTheKnight
I had a problem with an A-49 but followed this and it worked: http://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=122225
Snegas
Hi David My midi controller does not have usb output but I use midi-usb cables that works perfectly fine with other my roland D50. So I have confirmed that my cables are okay, it might be something else that I need to do but I am not sure what. If there are other suggestions please help me
