Monkeymonkey35
Hi all, I bought this rMBP a few months ago, 15" quad-core with integrated graphics. Heat has been driving me crazy. I work in a 74 degree (Fahrenheit) room, and the computer consistently idles around 60 celsius. Watching a video in Safari brings it to 90 celsius, or more. Are these normal temps in your experience? Has anyone found a good cooling solution? The Svalt is the only cooler I have found that appears to do anything for this machine, but it only works in clamshell mode. If there were a passive cooling pad that acted as a heatsink, I bet that would work. (Rain stands don't actually work as such, despite being solid metal). Wolfie2112
Mine gets very hot as well, especially around the top of the keyboard area. I have it on a USB powered cooling mat which works pretty good to exhaust the heat from underneath.
Monkeymonkey35
What model, out of curiosity? Does it cool more than 2-3 Celsius? Quieter than the internal fans?
Wolfie2112
It's just a cheap Targus from Walmart. Mine is fairly quiet, all you need to do is move that air.
