leeguirado Posted September 25, 2017 Share Posted September 25, 2017 I am creating uplifting trance music and have been told that I should have my percussion (Claps, Open hats etc.) in the same key as the rest of the track. So I'm thinking that if my bassline played on note E, i would need to find percussion sounds in key E also. My question is, does it have to be that strict? or could i pick keys that are in the same scale? Im just wondering as I'm not sure whether i am right in having to scroll through many samples just to find a percussion sound in a certain key to fit the bassline.
