I got it because it is a reliable 7200 RPM HDD and it is 8TB, plus when I use it in MY studio I can use it to daisy chain. It's very good. I I use it to hold my ever growing collection of sample libraries. However when I take it on the road with me or to another studio, I want to be able to set up with my laptop and not have to worry about plugging the Lacie into a wall outlet.
