I HAVE A GOLDEN AGE PRE 73 MKII HUMM PROBLEM

I HAVE A GOLDEN AGE PRE 73 MKII and there is a humm that will not go away.

I cant use it to record because Logic picks up and records the humm.

The Humm is persistant despite turning up or down mic gain, or output volume.

I thought at first it was my XLR so I got a new one, and that did not work.

I also thought that it was because I do not have a grounding in my studio-but, after reading I found out that this pre-amp uses two-wire AC, without ground.

I also have it running through a power conditioner, thinking that may have solved the issue, but it did not.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Thanks!

Did you find a solution?

You might have developed a ground loop somewhere. I have an issue with a couple of audio interfaces if they are connected with usb and wired through my outboard mixer.

Try Disconnecting everything and hook it all back up one piece at a time. This includes external hardware as well. If you find the problem device, you can try powering it from another source. Sometimes that can help with ground loops. If your power conditioner has isolated outlets or isolated groups of outlets, you could try plugging things in different outlets/groups.
