Apollo - Logic users

Wondering if you Apollo users would care to share your Console 2 / Logic workflow and/or tips and tricks. Also how you acheive balanced monitoring levels when tracking?

@mdee Apollo console 2 is very simple, and really it depends on what you're tracking at any time. First of all, make sure to use 21-22 virtual channels (in logic) as your output not 1-2 monitor. Depending on whether I am recording live mics or live instruments I use individual tracking and preamps and or other plugins per type. An example, unison plugin on a mic like a 610b then into a comp and eq of some sort aux to a reverb, reverb not on record though. But, if I am recording a guitar DI I will use a fender 55 unison to a roland echo and then aux to reverb... etc etc.

From a monitor balance point, I use a presonus monitor station 2. I then use a pink noise generator and drive to 80db individually for first left, then right. That way in my room I hear the balanced 3d image in stereo at my sitting position.

Thanks for the reply. I'm slowly getting used to the new workflow and dialing in playback levels on the Virtual Channels. Been using MOTU interfaces dating back to the late 1980's.
