I remember a discussion from a few years back about the advantages/disadvantages between bouncing and freezing a track. I recall David Nahamani favoring bouncing over freezing tracks, but I cannot remember why. I'm about to add some tracks with plug-ins that require heavy use of the CPU and want to eliminate the use of plug-ins on the other tracks temporarily. The thing is, I remember that David, or someone, mentioned some advantages/disadvantages between the bouncing and freezing a track, but I cannot remember specifically. Ploki Posted February 12, 2020 Share Posted February 12, 2020 i'd go with freeze if its just for CPU. - it's 32bit FP, not 24bit, so better resolution - you can still pull the file from freeze files (until you unfreeze) - its easier and faster to turn on/off If you wish to do other editing/destructive audio stuff, go with bounce.
