Bounce or Freeze Track?

Recommended Posts

I recently started recording again. I remember a discussion from a few years back about the advantages/disadvantages between bouncing and freezing a track. I recall David Nahamani favoring bouncing over freezing tracks, but I cannot remember why. I'm about to add some tracks with plug-ins that require heavy use of the CPU and want to eliminate the use of plug-ins on the other tracks temporarily.

Thanks for your reply. I understand the difference. The thing is, I remember that David, or someone, mentioned some advantages/disadvantages between the bouncing and freezing a track, but I cannot remember specifically. One thing I do remember is, when bouncing, to turn the original track to OFF, not MUTE.
