SideBMusic
Many effects have the option of choosing stereo or mono. The final output is stereo (I don't even know if you can bounce the mix in mono, never occurred to me.) But my question has to do with using a mono track, which is what I use with vocals. Should mono tracks use mono effects when given the choice? For instance, when using a reverb effect on a mono track.
fuzzfilth
You can use your FX in either stereo or mono as an artistic decision. The source does not determine the FX format. Go into an empty hall and speak with your voice. Your two ears will hear stereo reverb from that mono voice. To have stereo FX (especially reverb) with mono tracks, you usually use Sends from the Track to an Aux which has the reverb. That way you can mix/pan/EQ both independently and you can Send other Tracks to that same reverb too.
