Matt B
Hi all, Can anyone recommend a good free website where I can find a decent range of free samples? I’m thinking sound effects, maybe the odd vocal snippet, and so on. I searched the net and found a few but I’m unsure which is the best. I signed up with Splice, on the understanding that I’d get to access ‘some’ free samples but once I’d given them my details, it seems it’s all behind a paywall. Most disappointing. Thanks in advance. Solution kingminotaur Posted June 17, 2020 Solution Share Posted June 17, 2020 https://freesound.org is a totally free delight, tens of thousands of free drum machines, obscure accordion samples, weird synth hits.... waste an afternoon-- it's worth it!! MikeRobinson
Hearty agreement on that one! ("I'm not goofing around ... I'm researching!") Also: plenty of good sound libraries are packaged as "SoundFonts," and quite-naturally Logic also knows how to use these. Some are so-so, some are very obscure, but some are excellent. You often find sound-effects libraries packaged this way because they're very easy to trigger.
Ploki
Splice is 7$/month to be honest... it's not that much. just rent it for a month, download 100 creds worth and then pause subscription for two months.
Matt B
Freesounds.org looks perfect, thanks. I’ll give that a go. I may give Splice a go if freesounds doesn’t work out. Cheers.
skijumptoes
I really like loopcloud, you get free samples each day and it's software catalogues your personal collection very well. https://www.loopcloud.com/cloud/ Plus they give you some free credits, incase there's anything else you fancy.
