Mark1971
Hi, So, I'm getting a rough mix going for these vocal tracks someone sent me and the singer hits the 2nd verse a little harder than the first. The first verse is more falsetto and the second is like full voice (not screaming or belting). The compression settings for the first verse are fine but the second need more taming. How can I alter the settings just for the 2nd verse? I thought about just duplicating the track, moving the regions over and changing the settings but is there a way to do it on the same channel? Atlas007
Automation perhaps?
Mark1971
Hi Atlas007, So, how would I do that? I will do a search online but any pointers you can give would be appreciated.

fisherking
i use the duplicate track thing often (if automation isn't the more-obvious way to do something). you can even make a summing track stack with, for example, 2 (or more) vocals, that have specific differences, but you want overall control over (ie level, or a 'general' eq or effect). just different paths to the same result. Mark1971
Yeah, I just duplicated the track and changed the compressor there. Pretty easy.
facej
I generally create regions and place them on different tracks if they need different processing. I wind up with "Vocal Chorus" and "Vocal VerseN" etc. easy to tell what's going on, simpler to share tracks if you want to.
