Good Book on MIDI?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Despite owning a couple MIDI keyboards, I don't know much about MIDI and what you can do with it, other than that when I play notes, they trigger samples. Or that you can map a hardware controller to software instrument controls. I would like to learn more, particularly about things like MIDI channels and how to use them, particularly related to articulations, maybe modulations, etc. And possibly about other things I don't even realize are possible. Does anyone have a book they'd recommend? I'm pretty focused on the practical aspects rather than super-technical details, but I also know that I don't even know enough to ask particularly intelligent questions at this point.

Thanks!

AG
