Rasing master fader / individual tracks

Recommended Posts

Hey,

So I've been having some troubles with my mixes being really quiet in the pre-mastering stages, like we're talking around -45LUFS (this is pretty low right, I'm not crazy?). Is there a difference between raising the volume of my mix by putting for instance an EQ or gain plugin on the stereo output and turning it up, compared to raising the faders on the individual tracks?

Thanks

Looks like your audio files are not that loud, just from the waveform.

One thing I would do in your case.

Put a Gain plugin at the beginning of every channel, except the Stereo Out.

Add 10 dB of volume on the plugin and see how your mix changes.

Raising the Stereo Out fader is not recommended.

On a side note: You have 2 Stereo Outs. The one on the far right should be called Master Fader and leave it untouched. Otherwise you gonna start moving the wrong fader and you gonna have a mess in your mix.
