equipboard Posted August 23, 2021 Share Posted August 23, 2021 Hey Logic Pro fam, A little interesting data here regarding DAW usage I dug up from tens of thousands of artists. It's a breakdown of what music genres are most correlated to which DAWs. You can see the Logic Pro spread (and a few other DAWs) as well as conclusions that can be drawn from the data here. Is the spread what you thought it might be, or does anything surprise you? I started on Logic myself and it kind of got me thinking about why... I was on Mac and could have easily gone the Ableton or Cubase route. I think it had a lot to do w what the artists that inspired me at the time were using, so I could kinda copy what they were doing in tutorial vids as I was learning the ropes... A lot of the data comes from professional/famous artist usage, and their age is pretty well documented around the web, so that would definitely be an interesting lens on the data... So I haven't the vaguest notion of the differences between edm, trance, dub and trap, and all the permutations thereof.
