uvikamelis9
I plan on using it for light vocals, sound effects, raps, character reels, and the like. What are your recommendation(s) for a good first microphone that fits those uses for an up-and-coming bedroom producer?appvalley tutuapp tweakbox Edited September 7, 2021 by uvikamelis9
triplets
What's your budget? Do you have an audio interface or do you want to get a USB microphone?
David Nahmani
I would try to get a decent condenser mic. If it fits your budget, the Rode NT1 is a great all around condenser mic: • Rode NT1 on Amazon • Rode NT1 on Amazon with USB audio interface
Glenn L.
+1 for the Røde. It was my first good mic. I bought the original back in the last century, and still have it.
jerrydpi
I'd go with a Shure SM7B over the Rode NT1 because: 1) It will work well in a bedroom studio that doesn't have top of the line acoustic treatment. 2) I know for a fact that the SM7B is used more on vocals in Professional Recording Studios, and on more hit records, than the Rode NT1. blakedirksen
If budget is an issue, I still go to my AT2020 a LOT even though I have more expensive mics. https://www.audio-technica.com/en-us/at2020
