Danny Wyatt
I'm thinking of buying a new interface, because the one I have (the old MAudio Fast Track Pro) has this weird behavior where it starts distorting the sound after a while and I need to turn it off and then back on. My requirements: - 2 inputs, 4 outputs (optional, but a plus, the 4 outputs, in case I want to use it as a DJ solution for an independent output) - Independent headphones output and volume control so I can have the speakers in "mute", but still control the volume of the headphones. - Something that doesn't need external power, so I can work anywhere where no power is available. Other than that, something that's good enough in terms of quality. Regardless of the budget, what are your suggestions? I'm not looking for something that costs $5,000 of course haha But something that's somehow affordable (up to $1,000 or so), good enough quality and meets those requirements. Thanks! Glenn L.
Look at RME Babyface. I have the Fireface 802 and it's solid as a rock, they support 'legacy' hardware, and I get only 4.9 ms RL @64 samples. Not exorbitant, but RME isn't cheap. Their products are quality, though. David Nahmani
I'm afraid a Prism Lyra would break Danny's "up to $1,000" budget limit though.

David Nahmani
Indeed, but who knows, when i heard it i broke the limit myself. Or maybe he can find a used one? I used to own a Metric Halo ULN2. I miss that little beast. I've never had the pleasure to work with a Prism interface... yet.
