Skeletor Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 I have borrowed a Presonus Inspire 1394 off a friend, and I am just up to plugging it into my iMac, from the back of the interface runs a 6 pin firewire plug to a 4 pin plug in my mac. Problem is my mac has 6 pin inputs only. Can I simply buy a 4 to 6 pin adapter ? Or will it work if I buy a 6 pin to 6 pin cable and use the external power supply for the interface? The power supply is only needed if your computer only has a four pin firewire port.
