Help - how to remove drums from an audio track?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Ive had a quick squiz around online and the general consensus is that this isnt really possible, but hear me out.

Im trying to remix 'Stranger in Moscow' and the bits with the chords/vox I want to use have drums over the top which clash with my D+B riddims. HOWEVER - since in another part of the track we have just the drums on their own, surely it would be possible using software, to overlay the drums to the track with both drums and chords, and somehow create a 'negative' drumtrack - effectively subtracting the drum bits from the soundwave? I realise that in application this would probably not sound perfect and would need tweakable options etc, but does anyone know of a program that at least lets you attempt this?

All help gratefully received. If I pull it off you can all download my badass MJ remix for FREE - that's right!
